MakeCash ("we", "us") is an independent, editor-run directory of ways to make money online and offline, published at makecash.top. This policy explains what personal data we handle and the rights you have under the GDPR and similar laws.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

Newsletter email. If you subscribe, you provide your email address. It is sent to our email processor Formspree and used only to send the weekly letter. You can unsubscribe anytime via the link in every email.
Preferences. Your theme (light/dark) and your cookie-consent choice are stored in your browser's localStorage on your device. We do not read these on a server.
Affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link you are taken to a third-party platform. That platform may collect data under its own policy; we only receive anonymised click attribution if the partner reports it.
Server logs. Our hosting provider may log standard request data (IP address, user agent, date) for security and uptime. We do not use these to profile you.

3. Legal basis

Consent — for the newsletter and for non-essential (marketing/affiliate) cookies.
Legitimate interest — for strictly necessary cookies (preferences/consent record) and security logs.

4. Sharing & processors

Formspree (email delivery) — a US-based processor. See formspree.io/legal.
Affiliate partners — only when you click through; governed by their own policies.

We never sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Some processors (e.g. Formspree) are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the processor's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

6. Retention

Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Preference/consent data lives in your browser and is removed when you clear site data. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can: access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email hello@makecash.top. You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
